You are entitled to mileage reimbursement for medical, pharmacy and physical therapy visits under the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Act.

“Medical Expenses shall include but are not limited to the reasonable cost of travel between the employee’s home and the place of examination or treatment or physical therapy or the pharmacy.”  Workers’ Compensation Board Rule 203(d). Mileage is reimbursed currently at 40 cents per mile round trip.  All mileage must be submitted within one year from occurrence.

Often, the insurance adjuster fails to inform workers’ compensation employees that they are entitled to reimbursement.
